Default GT 990 no spark

Hi everyone.....
Model 0053810 watchdog
Serial 4651677
LP 1" around 30'
Purchased new and been in the corner of the shop awhile..
Installed May 2013, exercised every Wednesday until this week.
I always check it after it runs, this week no start and overcrank light on.
Got fuel, put spark tester on,no spark. Checked connections, grounds, battery is new and Fully charged. Cranks fine, can smell the propane but no spark. Anything else I can check before I call a tech?
Thanks
Mike

Mike - I have a concern. You say that it's "been in the corner of the shop awhile". Does this mean that your generator is indoors and operates while indoors?

Chances are a coil pack failed, less likely, the magnet on the flywheel is no longer on the flywheel. When one coil pack fails, the other will usually not work. They work off each other.

It is an easy fix, but it is time consuming removing the complete right half of the generator so you can pull the cover off the engine.

I quote 3.5 hours labor for a coil pack replacement (we also replace the ground wire that goes between them) and 4.0 hours if the flywheel must be replaced, which again is very unlikely.

Kelly,
Got spark back, but I believe I need a new flywheel, small pieces of magnet are
Scattered on the right side of blower housing.

I'm actually pulling up a part 080320, "flywheel magnetic screw"

Wonder if that model has a screw as the magnet. If so, you can fix it for the price of $.34.
